August is Membership and Extension Month. We use this month to remind ourselves that the lifeblood of Rotary is its membership. Not just bringing in new members, but keeping our existing members. The institutional knowledge and experience of current members and the inspiration and enthusiasm of new members are powerful tools for success of our club. Hopefully, we are doing a good job of making our current members feel welcomed and needed and presenting programs that will educate and interest our members. I have been thrilled with the number of visitors we have welcomed in the last month and trust that many will return as new members in the near future. Keep up the good work!
One easy way to get the word out about Rotary is by simply wearing your Rotary pin. Rotary is well known and well respected all over the world. When you wear your Rotary pin you are telling people that you believe in Rotary and its ideal of service above self. Your Rotary pin tells the world that you are someone who has high ethical standards and someone who stands by their word. I urge you to wear your Rotary pin every day.
Have a great month.
