HOW WE HELP
Polio Plus We are proud to participate in this world-wide program to eradicate the polio virus all over the world.
Children’s Homes We take children to entertainment and educational activities and support them at Christmastime such as the Children’s Shelter, ARC, Presbyterian Childrens’ Home, St. Peter & St. Joseph Childrens’ Home, BoysVille.
Rotaplast We provide donations, volunteers, and professional staff for medical missions in 3rd world countries.
Baby Sitter Training Classes We offer a day-long class teaching teens proper baby sitting techniques that includes nutrition, psychology, exercise, play, and emergency procedures.
Rotary Group Study Exchange We sponsor groups of young people for an extended period of time from different countries to come and learn about the US.
Northside ISD Annual Grant We modify school playgrounds so handicapped children can play together with their classmates.
Piedras Negras Country School Our club just built them their first toilets. We also provide much needed supplies to the teachers and children.
Rotary International Youth Exchange Program We send students from the local area abroad and sponsor students from abroad for the summer or a complete school year.
Leon Springs Elementary, Aue Elementary, Knowlton Elementary, Geneva School (Early Act Clubs) Children learn community service and leadership skills.
Rawlinson Middle, Geneva School (JuniorAct Club) Middle schoolers continue to practice community service and leadership within their own chosen projects.
Earl Warren High School, TMI–The Episcopal School of Texas – (INTERACT Clubs) Community service activities, communication and leadership skills, scholarships.
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Activities) Leadership seminars for teens.
Orfanateria de Paulino (Piedras Negras Orphanage) This is the only orphanage along the border which accepts children with disabilities.
San Antonio Food Bank We support this group with volunteer service and donations.
CAM (Christian Assistance Ministries) We support this organization with volunteers, food, clothing, and donations because they provide many things to people in need.
Cactus Pear Music Festival We provide youth scholarships and staffing at free community concerts and at free children’s concerts.
Battered Women’s and Children’s Shelter We support this organization with volunteers, food, clothing, and other donations throughout the year.
Wheelchair Foundation We provide wheel chairs for handicapped people in need.
Early Act/First Knights Provides character education for school children.
UTSA Scholarship Established to honor past club presidents.
Literacy Projects Provides English and Spanish dictionaries to schools.
Wounded Warriors Dinners We treat our wounded service members and their families to several Thank You dinners each year
